Only painting of mine that my mother saved from when I was about 8 years old.   I did a lot of paintings with my Aunt Mina Booth who lived in Bayard and was a member of the Black Range Artists group. 

When i was in high school I took painting my freshman year from Mr Joe Goforth.  After he retired I continued taking art classes every year with Mr Ken Sparks.  My parents let me have half of our chicken house building in the back yard for my studio.   I painted it white and used it for several years and did all kinds of things in there of which this is the only painting we could find.

Pencil drawing of my grandmother.  I did lots of drawings on paper but have none of them.  They are what I used later to apply to Art Center School in Las Angeles which I attended for only a half of a year because i missed home here so much.  When I returned I went to WNMU for another five years majoring in Art.

My cousin Nancy asked me to do a painting of a "Familiar" for her to help her at a difficult time in her life and this was what I came up with.

This painting was in my Senior show at WNMU and was the beginning of my Abstract Impressionist period if you want to call it that.   I loved working with abstracted forms and color for many years.

Cecil Howard was my painting and pottery professor at WNMU.  He came here from Kansas as an assemblage maker and collage person and i loved
working in collage still do.  I saved this one because it is one of my favorite things I ever did and was supposed to look like an antique wall or something..............hence my interest in things old (like the Museum)

This was done with a mixture of latex paint and whatever else i could find in my studio.  In collage I was called "Latex" because i loved latex paint and i used it a lot and it wasn't all that great because many of my early paintings cracked badly but I didn't care.   This painting is in the permanent collection of WNMU art department.

This was one of the paintings that I did for my senior exhibition at WNMU.  The whole exhibit was my reaction to the Vietnam War and I used dead animals as my models.  I have never again ventured into that realm because it was so hard on me both physically and emotionally.

This painting is the middle panel of another tryptich done on plywood.  I used a number of classic figures from the past like this Durer drawing and the sketch of Van Gogh in the upper right hand corner.  The first panel was a portrait of Rembrandt with a group of Penquins and the thirs panel was dedicated to Frans Hals.  I loved spending the time copying great masters paintings because you learn a lot from what they did just by spending the time looking at their paintings.

I was lucky to have Dorothy McCray as my printmaking and Art History teach while at WNMU.   

I had a show at the Spring Street Turn Around Gallery after I had moved into my studio and started planting things in my parking lot like onions.  Some of the drawings were left like this and some were painted.

This drawing was part of a series of drawings on paper that i did up at Mill Creek in the forest for a show in Kansas.   Dee Connett had asked me
to exhibit at the University she taught at.

First painting I did after I returned from Europe after two years in the army.  I did it in my parents garage in Bayard where I was staying until I found a house to live in.  I poured Kerosine on this painting and burned it.

I was asked to be in a drawing show up at WNMU and I did a series of drawings based on Picasso's circus performers paintings.

First painting I did after moving into my new studio which is a view out my windows.

This painting belonged to my friend David Skolfield who bought it when I first opened the shop.

Raku was my black and white tabby cat.

This painting was in juried exhibition at the Museum of New Mexico and then was selected to be in a traveling 7 state exhibit that lasted for several years before it was returned to me.

One of a series of black and white paintings that I did using different tecniques.....................this one remained black and white as did several other ones but some of them were colorized in the manner of an old photograph being tinted.

One of a series of three paintings that hung as a tryptich.  The group of large paintings was shown in Albuquerque, Tucson, Las Cruces, Juarez, Mex. and WNMU.

Another version of the Twin Sisters mountain range which has been the view I have painted over and over for twenty years or so trying different approaches.

I did a series of paintings of portraits of people from this one to Rembrandt.........I had gone back to Washington, D.C. to see Rembrandt's self portait in 1981 to  see the Smithsonian Castle after it had been restored for the Bicentinnial celebration.

I did a series of "floater" landscapes that I called postcards.
